Wilmington has a fish with your name on it, so let Sea Bear Charters help you catch it!
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Bonito, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Flounder, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, and whatever else is biting. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Robert can also help you try kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
Trips with Sea Bear Charters are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to keep their stamina going!
You’ll step aboard a 25’ Luhrs sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip, but after June 30th the blackout license has you covered. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with Sea Bear Charters is just a click away, so why not make it happen?
