Watersports fans will have multiple options to what they want to learn as well, as the surf school offers instruction in kiteboarding, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding, which takes place all along the Cape Fear coastline. While each class has its own unique appeal, the surf camps are arguably the most popular, and include week-long instruction that covers all the basics and details that will get visitors standing on a board in no time. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, the Cameron Art Museum has grown over the past five decades into one of coastal North Carolina's premier collections of regional, national and international art, filling virtually every corner of its gallery space at its 17th Street and Independence Blvd. intersection location. The modern building with its trio of glass pyramid rooftops is easy to distinguish in Downtown Wilmington, however visitors are even more impressed when they walk through the doors and get a first glimpse of the permanent and rotating collections.
Visitors will find an easy-to-get-to beach paradise at Oak Island, an expansive but peaceful retreat that's located an easy drive away from Wilmington, Southport, and other inland North Carolina communities. Both the main town and the island itself share the name of "Oak Island," and while the town extends slightly inland, encompassing the Cape Fear Regional Jetport, the rest of the community is cut off from the world by the long Elizabeth River, and a network of salty creeks and canals. This watery gap may not be particularly wide, but visitors will feel the change as soon as they cross over the bridge. Once ashore, Oak Island is a picturesque landscape of charming vacation rental homes, cool seafood restaurants and shops, and miles of ocean shoreline.

Your kids will appreciate the bunk room that sleeps 2 in the loft. It has the best vistas in the home from the top bunk, including Old Baldy Lighthouse. Appreciate reading your book or watching an evening thunderstorm from the wrap around 360 degree windows and vistas. Creek and Marsh front location!This is a naturalist heaven, savor birding, including a variety of wildlife, dolphins in the creek and great water vistas from the 2nd floor deck.
