Getting the best Southport rental home experience:

When to reserve a Southport rental & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. Book your Southport rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book the perfectrental home:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 083 Capture The Moment by Sunset Vacations has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
