Tips to get the perfect Southport vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the right Southport rental:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 4 BR Home with ICWW views, Community Pool and Fishing Dock has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Southport destination you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
