Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

When to book a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. #8 Harbor View! Private Beach Access New to Airbnb has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
