How to get the best Southport rental home experience:

When to visit Carolina Beach & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Southport vacation home:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. #8 Harbor View! Private Beach Access New to Airbnb has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
