All of the best vacations begin with A Great Place to Stay, and you’ve just found it! Located on a peaceful neighborhood street just over half a mile from the nearest public beach access and conveniently close to Swain’s Cut Bridge, this comfortable home offers a private pool and accepts up to two dogs per reservation.

New for 2024! Appreciate a warm soak on a cool evening with an expanded deck and privacy fence featuring a Dreammaker Comfort 2300L hot tub. This five to six-person hot tub has 23 adjustable jets that target shoulders, back muscles and feet for a massaging hydrotherapy experience. Also, a handy foot wash by the tub steps helps to keep it clean and comfortable for all guests.

Unwind on the front porch as you sip your morning coffee and savor the island breeze or take your dog for a leisurely walk on the shaded streets. Just inside the front door, the nautical-themed living room is a cozy place to recoup after a long day on the beach. Two armchairs and a chaise couch provide plenty of seating space to gather around the sizable flat screen TV to cheer on your favorite team or watch a movie together.

The completely outfitted eat-in kitchen features a sturdy dining table that seats six and everything you need to prepare the catch of the day. There’s even enough counterspace for more than one chef to work if your haul was particularly impressive!

The master bedroom has a king bed and its own wall-mounted flat screen TV with a DVD player for your entertainment. A recliner and lamp create a peaceful nook for reading or napping. The attached private bath has a cavernous walk-in closet with plenty of storage space and a tub/shower combo.

The second bedroom has a queen bed and is just across from the final bedroom, which has two twin beds. Between these rooms is a full bath with shared hall access and a standard tub/shower combo.

The backyard provides ample outdoor living space and amenities. Entirely fenced, kids and dogs can play worry-complimentary while your group gathers around the fire pit for conversation. Cool off in the above-ground pool, conveniently accessible from the raised decking just outside your back door. A canopy ensures shaded deck space at any time of day, complete with optional screen walls and a ceiling fan to reinforce the sea breeze. There are lounge chairs for sunbathing and additional dining seating for six if you prefer eating al fresco.

When it’s time to hit the sand, you’re only a short three-min. drive from the nearest public beach access, which can also be reached in less than 15 mins. by foot. And once you’ve returned from the beach, an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water makes cleaning up to discover island dining options or close by Southport painless and convenient.

Soak in the slower pace of island life and appreciate time with friends and family. Float beneath Carolina blue skies as you listen to the music of rustling oak leaves. Make memories that last a lifetime during an idyllic vacation at A Great Place to Stay!

Finding the best Southport rental experience:

When to reserve a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your Southport vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A Great Place to Stay: Cozy, Dog-Friendly Cottage with Private Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
