Strategies for getting the best Southport vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Watts Landing: Nautical Themed Home with Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Southport beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
