How to book the best Oak Island rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To find the best value, change your family's Southport vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best rental home in Oak Island:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach house surrounded by live Oaks. Walking distance to beach access! has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
