How to find the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best rental:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach, Please: Best View of the Ocean with the Comforts of Home. 2bd\/2ba has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
