NOTE: Casa Pura Vida NC is environmentally conscious so the intelligent thermostats are set to not go below 72 degrees in the summer. There are two thermostats in the home. One controls temperature for the third floor and the other controls temperature for the first and second floors. There is one thermostat that controls the temperature for the first and second floors in the dining room area (at the bottom of the stairs leading from the second floor to the third floor). The other thermostat is in the primary bedroom on the third floor next to the door closest to the bathroom. There are also fans in the home to assist with cooling.

About the Area

Wilmington Beach, a neighborhood in Carolina Beach, is home to this vacation home. Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Carolina Beach Arcade and Good Hops Brewing. Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School are also worth visiting.

Finding the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. To get the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses.
