Tips for getting the perfect Southport rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Ocean Isle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beachfront!! New Listing! Light & Airy Remodeled 5 Bed\/3.5 Bath With Large Deck has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a certain Southport attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
