Tips to get the perfect Southport rental home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to book:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful 3 Bedroom Vacation Property On The Water has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
