Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:

  • To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Best views in NC, oceanfront beachfront 3BR 3BA has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
