Getting the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Southport area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Southport trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book a perfectrental home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fitz Us Fine: Spacious, Adorable Beach Home in Family-friendly Neighborhood has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
