Tips to get the best Oak Island vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. Book your Southport vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the best Southport vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fitz Us Fine: Spacious, Adorable Beach Home in Family-friendly Neighborhood has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
