When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Southport area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends).   • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it.
