Please note that "Sea La Vie" is a duplex with "La Dolce Vita". They do not share any common areas or entrances, and are each completely private. They share a common wall that divides the two homes. If you need more space, please inquire about booking both homes together!

“Sea La Vie” is the ideal oceanside hideaway with striking oceanfront vistas and restricted public access to the pristine beach. Totally refreshed with new furnishings, new beds and top-quality beds in every room, this comfortable and inviting home is located in the highly charming Flora's Bluff neighborhood, with a private boardwalk that is just 100 steps to the handsome sand on Bald Head Island’s timeless South Beach.

As you walk into the home, you will be greeted by the open great room surrounded by new windows with sunlight streaming in. The completely outfitted gourmet kitchen features granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances to allow the chef in your family to prepare up memorable meals served on the breakfast bar. The dining area seats 10 and is ideal for special meals and entertaining. All this and more leads to the private front porch to take in the sun and serenity of this relaxing, ideal island location.

The second floor features a sun-filled opulent master bedroom with new king bed and a brand new, private bathroom. The open, second-floor porch off the master bedroom offers broad oceanfront vistas and there’s ample room for reading, calming, drink hours or just gazing at the rolling surf from all new porch furnishings. This just may become your secret getaway for early morning coffee and lazy sunset toasts to the day appreciated. The second bedroom on this level features a queen bed for your comfort and another completely new private bath. Every bedroom in the home has new beds, box springs, pillows, bed linens and frames. The home features TWO new full baths and TWO new half baths.

Head up one more level to discover a marvelous getaway with a full bed, two single beds and a loft bed, as well as a new half bath. This unique level has impressive ocean vistas too, and this sizable room is rather inviting and peaceful.

Families, friend, and travelers can relax here in comfort, style and safety. There is a private, fenced patio area for grilling, dining and for providing a play area for kids—and a close by outdoor shower. There is a brand new six-seat golf cart for your use in exploring this handsome island and you can tour the island in real style. There are also two new (2023) adult bicycles - we try hard to keep them in great condition but although we guarantee the availability and condition of the golf cart, we cannot guarantee the condition of the bicycles.

The owners will see that all your needs are accommodated and that your time spent in this home will be memorable. Our fulltime, on island home manager will go the additional mile to help guests feel special and welcome. We know you will agree with our one request that outdoor shoes stay outdoor so that the gleaming floors will remain that way for all our guests.

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in South Beach, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James. Traveling with kids? Consider Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Tips to get the optimal Southport vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers.   • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
