Strategies for getting the perfect Southport rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is high season in the Southport area. Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the right Southport vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. I LOVE BEACH MUSIC!!! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
