Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's an individual Southport attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
