When to reserve a Southport rental & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance.   • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
