How to book the best Southport vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Southport area:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Luxury 5BR Canal Home - Linens and golf cart provided! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
