Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful East End Home. Steps to the beach! New Tiki Bar for 2024. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
