Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Southport area. To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Southport rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 0703 Atlantic Retreat by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
