Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the rightvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beach Cabin - perfect for your family getaway! Pet Friendly! by RedAwning has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
