close by lake, exploring historic Fort Fisher or the local aquarium, or going to

day, or savor a calming day on the beach at Freeman Park. Sleep in or get up

early to watch the gorgeous sunrises accompanied by dolphins and shrimp

boats. Every week in the summer, you have Fireworks at the Carolina Beach

Kayaking offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling nearby.

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
