How to find the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Southport area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 4 Bedroom Townhome 1 Block from Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Southport attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
