Strategies for getting the perfect Carolina Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • To start, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. PW302: Pelican Watch 302: Oceanfront, Indoor + Outdoor Pool, Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
