Begin your next Oak Island beach vacation with a check in at Red Roof Inn! This third-row home is located in walking distance of Ocean Crest Fishing Pier and features multiple porches and a completely fenced backyard from which to appreciate the fresh sea air and the sounds of the waves.

Hang out in the comfortable and bright living room to watch a movie on the huge wall-mounted intelligent TV, or select one of the supplied board games or puzzles to lay out on the coffee table instead. A constructed in bench along the back wall offers the ideal perch for pulling on shoes before heading down to the beach. Down the hall, a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer connects through to a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo.

The adjacent kitchen provides tons of cabinet and counter space for preparing and storing ingredients, including a double sink ideal for rinsing off fresh local produce. Whether you plan to order in from local eateries or prepare lavish three-course meals from scratch, you’ll have everything you need to dine in style. The close by dining nook is furnished with a sturdy wooden table that seats six, and an additional four seats are available at the breakfast bar.

When it’s time to settle everybody in for the evening, you’ll find all sleeping spaces located on the second floor of the home. At the top of the stairs, another full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo is shared by the three bedrooms around the corner. The first bedroom is furnished with a twin bed that has a pullout twin trundle underneath. The modest desk and chair is a convenient work station for those who are unable to completely avoid homework during their stay! The two queen bedrooms offer wall-mounted intelligent TVs for personal entertainment.

The master suite is also furnished with a queen bed and features an arm chair, wall-mounted intelligent TV, and an en suite bathroom complete with a glass and tile step in shower stall. Finest of all, there is direct access to a private covered porch that offers ocean vistas! Appreciate your morning coffee or evening drink from the bistro table and chairs as you watch the sunlight reflect on the waves beyond.

There is also a partially covered porch below with access from the ground floor or living room and plenty of room for the whole group! Dine al fresco at the outdoor table that seats six under the shaded portion of the deck or soak in the sun’s rays from classic wooden rocking chairs further forward. The back deck overlooks the entirely fenced, grassy backyard where little ones can play safely. An enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water under the home makes rinsing the sand off after a trip to the beach super painless, and a gas grille is supplied for cooking out.

When the time comes to hit the sand, you have the choice of two public beach accesses within 1000 feet of your doorstep. Set up by the pier via the 16th Place East beach path for convenient access to dining options and refreshments, or venture further east to the 19th Place East access if you prefer to set up further from the pier. Or turn away from the sea to meander along the 19th Place East spectacular walkway over Davis Canal, which offers amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and a striking gazebo. When your adventures for the day are done, scan the horizon and let the namesake feature of Red Roof Inn guide you back to your home away from home.

Strategies to get the perfect Southport rental home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Red Roof Inn: Ocean Views, Coastal Comfort, Close to Pier has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Southport attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
