Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Southport rental & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Southport restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Vacation time! Spacious newly remodeled retreat with all the comforts to unwind. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
