Strategies for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your Southport rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book your prefect Southport rental:

  • To start, have your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sound Veiw is a quaint cottage two blocks from the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
