Our top Carolina Beach rental home tips:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Sumter Avenue, Carolina Beach, NC The Family Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Southport destination you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
