Our top Southport rental home booking tips:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Southport area:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Surfer's Paradise\n has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
