Strategies for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Perfect Luxury Ocean Front Condo Vacation, Private Parking & Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Southport beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
