Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Sunset Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book a perfect Southport rental home:

  • To start, have your group decide on dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. The SS Pelican - Sunset Properties has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.

  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review.
