Tips for getting the perfect Oak Island rental home experience:

When to reserve a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Southport trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental home in Oak Island:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. \"Total Package\" The total package 7 bedroom oceanfront home with pool! has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
