Booking the best Southport vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Southport rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Third-floor condo with balcony, pools & hot tub - near the beach\/golf courses has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
