Welcome to the heart of downtown Wilmington, NC! This loft is privately tucked upstairs in the historic Shrier building with so much within walking distance:

1 block from the Wilmington Riverwalk
2 blocks to Cape Fear Community College
5 min walk to the Convention Center
15 min. walk to the Live Oak Bank Pavilion
3 miles to Battleship NC
7 miles to the University of Wilmington
20 min. drive to Wrightsville Beach, 30 mins. to Carolina Beach!

The space
You will appreciate the contrast of being right in the center of downtown while being able to walk up to a completely private loft with all the amenities of home. The walls are 12ft tall and new updates throughout give this loft a roomy and modern feel. You will LOVE the balcony overlooking Front Street. Talk about just sitting back, calming, people watching, and being able to savor the bustle from above. AND the last little luxury I'd appreciate to mention is my striking dry sauna in my master bathroom!

Other things to note
No complimentary parking for my loft. Street parking is complimentary from 6:30pm-9:00am Monday through Saturday and complimentary on Sunday. I park in the lot behind the building and sometimes find street parking right in front. There are multiple decks around and I just unload in the front (if space accepts) and then I move my car.

There is a walk up! One flight of stairs, no elevator.

Sleeps 6 means: Two beds (one queen, one king) and one pull out couch. As my spot is so cavernous it comfortably sleeps 6. I also have an air bed as well. Please disclose all guests staying overnight as we set up accordingly.

I have a similar unit exactly adjacent to this unit, within same walk up. If you are booking a bigger event, let me know.

About the Area

Located on a river, this condo is in Wilmington Historic District, a neighborhood in Wilmington. City Stage Theatre and Wilmington Railroad Museum are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit The Cotton Exchange and Mayfaire Town Center. Children's Museum of Wilmington and Carolina Heights are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as motor boating.

When to book a Southport rental & When to go:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.   • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
