The Palmetto Place opened in 2021 as a luxury escape for couples and modest families who appreciate the natural wonder of Bald Head Island. Our cedar shakes are located in Cape Fear Station and a fast golf cart ride to the public beach access, nature trails, crabbing holes, and the stores at Maritime Market. When you want to getaway from the sun and salt air, our comfortable home will welcome you with modern amenities, quality linens, and refreshed decor so you can exhale from reality and completely rejuvenate. The only worry you'll have is which bottle of red to bring.

Cape Fear Station, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island, is home to this vacation home. Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Carolina Beach and Caswell Beach. When to go & When to book:

  • Summer is high season in the Southport area. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
