Southport rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserve your Southport vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the bestrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 1st-floor apt near the beach with kitchenette, patio, & electric vehicle charger has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
