Tips for getting the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sand Dollars - 5mins to beach, huge lot, pet friendly and boat parking! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
