Ocean Isle Beach rental property booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 4 br 2 ba home on natural canal only 2 blocks from beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
