Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. All Sands On Deck: Dog Friendly Custom-Built Home With Artistic Coastal Decor has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
