Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Hobbs Realty - Oceanfront w\/Private Pool, Two Living Areas, and EV Charger has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Southport destination you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
