Amazing beach home only a short walk from the ocean! A great location at a great North Carolina beach! The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. The beach is pretty and just a straight walk or drive down the road. We can hear the ocean waves at nighttime. Generous front porch with rocking chairs and table. Extensive master bedroom with handsome bath. Coffee ready to go, a library, cable TV in living room. Please note that there is a main road to cross - E. Oak Island Dr. - to get to the beach. It gets busy during rush hour and high season. It’s better to take a right there and then a left on 73rd St. to avoid waiting. Parents will need to accompany kids if walking.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Kure Beach and Caswell Beach, while Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Oak Island rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Beach Getaway! Walk to Beach! Sleeps 6. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Southport destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
