Tips to get the very best Southport rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Holden Beach. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful Holden Beach corner canal lot, ICW views, short walk to the beach Pool has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
