Getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Big Wave: Sunny, Oceanfront Home with Awe-Inspiring Views has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Southport destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
