How to get the best Southport rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer time is high season in the Southport area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing a perfectvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Brand new modern beach home with elevator, pool, marsh view, 2 min walk to beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
