Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. OceanView Home w\/Private Pool and Private Beach Access has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
