Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

When to book a Southport rental & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Southport area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Coastal home with fire pit, close to golf courses and beach attractions has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
