Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Carolina Beach rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Condo with Canal View 1 block from Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
