Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Southport area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the right Southport rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Deja Blue- Midtown**Min to Downtown and Beaches has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport beach you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
